If I’ve learned anything from this channel it’s that being a millionaire or billionaire means that you can fund every single one of those hobbies you always wished you could indulge. Now most of the time those excesses are about real estate. That usually involves a massive modern mansion or a penthouse apartment. Then there are the sweet rides that range from brand new Bugattis to really old Ferraris. Any other collection, sport, hobby or passion is fully funded once you cross into the two or three comma club. Then there’s one other hobby that a ton of celebrities love but that we haven’t talked about nearly enough.
That is, of course, the world of luxury sneakers. Once upon a time, sneakers were just considered sportswear. They were just shoes that you’d wear to the gym and nothing else. Then they became an artform. A lot of that had to do with Michael Jordan and the rise of the Air Jordan brand. Over the last few decades, sneakers have become colorful acts of expression. Since then, they’ve become a statement. Celebrities like Kanye West, DJ Khaled, Mark Wahlberg, Jerry Seinfeld and Kevin Hart have all spent hundreds of thousands building a sneaker collection that proves they are among the greatest collectors in the world. Then there’s one collector who holds the world record for largest collection to date. He went so far as to open a museum dedicated to the artform.
