Robert Downey Jr. has something in common with Tony Stark when it comes to unique, eccentric and luxurious homes. While you may have heard of his epic Windmill house in the Hamptons, he has another property in Malibu that tops even that. His futuristic Dome House sits on 7-acres of beach-side land in California. Designed by architect Nicolò Bini, the Malibu Dome House or Binishell is made up of unique shapes- there are Hobbit-like doors, blob-shaped windows, and uniquely shaped rooms with no right angles.

Robert Downey Jr. and his wife bought the three parcels of land that would eventually become their massive Malibu estate in 2009 for $13.4 million. Its unique features include a bubble couch, convertible screening room, plenty of garage space, and a yard with a massive pool and personal petting zoo.

The Downeys used some cutting-edge eco-friendly technology in the creation of their home. They have solar panels that pull drinkable water out of the air and wind turbines that help make the Binishell less grid dependent.

While RDJ spares no expense when it comes to sustainability, he and his wife are also art collectors. One art piece in their yard is estimated to be worth at least $300,000. Other pricey pieces they own include a human-sized nest and a sculpture of Mickey Mouse wearing a gas mask. Are you ready for a tour of Robert Downey Jr.’s epic Dome House? Because this just might be the coolest celebrity home you’ve ever seen.
