What are the most expensive motorcycles in the world? The Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Motorcycle started at $110,000, and bids went up to $11M for this department store specialty item. There are only 45 of these bad boys on the road. The 1949 E90 AJS Porcupine is much rarer, with only 2 out of the 4 manufactured are left in the world in working condition. It’s the only 2 cylinder to ever win the 500cc World RoadRacing Championship.
The Ecosse ES1 Spirit is still in the prototype phase, but if released, it will run you $3M. It’s a 265 lbs crotch rocket that is designed to give you that Formula One driving experience on two wheels. We’ll look at the four $3M Yamaha BMS Nehmesis, the Jack Armstrong painted $1.1M Cosmic Starship Harley, Elvis’ last Harley, and the Jack Ehret 1951 Black Lightning.
These days, race bikes in the modern MotoGP can cost $1M to $2M, as $15,000 a year in tire expenses can be the norm. Pile that onto research and development costs, $400,000 plus engines, $100,000 a year in repairs, and boom, you’re at 7 figures for a Desmosedici MotoGP race bike.
